No card...

Long story...there will not be another card for Louise. Party was today so we just signed it from my mom and me. Yesterday after getting home from work our house smelled like gas/oil and I thought we had a natural gas leak so I grabbed a phone and ran to my garage. I'm sure you all know gas leaks are nasty and you can blow your house completely up just by turning a light switch on or anything small that causes friction or a spark....so I was scared out of my mind!!! My dad/hubby came over and investigated...after a few hours we found out it was not natural gas but our sump pump had gotten clogged in the cellar and burned up. So it had a fuel/oil smell but not natural gas! What a relief!! BUT the smell was so strong and gassy that I was getting severe headaches and was light-headed and dizzy so I had to stay out of the house which is why I did not get another card done. After airing out the house last night things are back to normal (minus the melted sump pump that needs fixed!). So today I am catching up on blogland and hopefully will get time to create something tomorrow!

Oh...and thanks for all the tips on embossing!! I think I will try a dryer sheet until I can pick up one of those embossing buddies!

Birthday Card for Louise

This card is for my BIL's mother. She is turning 77 and they are having a party for her this weekend. My mom asked me to make a card also so there will be another of a different design of course. I think this turned out so sparkly and pretty...what do you think??

First embossed card....

Well, here is a card as promised...not really happy with it but I ran out of time to do some damage control. I have been soooooo scared to try heat embossing but I gave it a try and I like it but I definately could use some tips. See in the picture all the little black dots around my image....how do I keep that from happening??? I stamped in versamark...used black powder...tapped off excess and heat embossed. Then tried to brush any powder that was left off but it was stuck on the card!! Kind of gives this card a neat effect but in the future I won't want that to happen. Then I watercolored my image....okay I haven't used actual watercolored paints in YEARS...got some areas a little too watery...oops! Under the flowers I tried to clean up some orange but just made it look dirty...ugh :( Then I added alot of sparkle but it just didn't turn out as I had hoped. Also I can't cut straight if my life depended on it! LOL! My image gets smaller and smaller and smaller....I so depend on my cricut way too much!! I will keep practicing at this so hopefully I can get better! Any tips on the embossing or anything else is greatly appreciated. Hopefully the next card will be MUCH better!

I am entering this into some challenges:

Whimsie Doodles Candy Win and New Stash!

The first picture is a digi I won from Whimsie Doodles. Isn't it so cute? I'm not a huge Halloween fan but I do love this image!!! I am a sucker for cute little animals!

The second picture is what I bought on my recent shopping spree with my mom at Hobby Lobby. I did pretty good...all of that for only $50!!! I bought almost everything on sale...oh man do I just LOVE a good sale!!!

The third picture is what I bought at my local craft store...the only one within a pretty good driving distance! Paper was on sale and everything else was $1 each!!!

Stay tuned...I have more coming in the mail and I will post when I get it. Your mouth will drop when you see it!

I have been saving for awhile if you can't tell...my DH gives me an allowance every two weeks to spend on non-essential items (or what he considers not a necessity...I think crafting is a necessity now!). I am just lucky I get money to spend so I won't complain one bit!! Buying all these different products I am definately finding out what I like and don't like. Some things that are cheap are well worth the savings other things require a splurge of the pocketbook! Maybe if I get time I will share with you every so often what I like/dislike. Where does time go??? Never enough hours in a day!

Hopefully the next post will be a project I just completed!

Candy and RAK!

Some more goodies I got in the mail! The top picture is what I won with my elephant drawing that I did on my head from Helen over at Ellephantastic Cards and Crafts. I don't have any of these images so I can't wait to get my new coloring tools... (I will post about that when I get them...oh you will be surprised!!!) but first I will practice on images I have so hopefully I don't mess any of these up!
Thanks again Helen!!

The second picture (sorry it is sideways...everytime I tried to make it turn the picture wouldn't stick) is a RAK I received from Deanne over at am i a scrap addict? She always has fab ideas on how to recycle items and make them pretty! I mean just look at the little can top mini she sent me... isn't it lovely?! Super pretty and thanks again for the RAK!

Wedding Card!

This is a card I made yesterday and I had to take a picture really quick on my chair as I was running very very VERY late to make it on time for the wedding!! I didn't follow any sketch this time just thought I would see where my imagination took me...it is different but I thought it turned out pretty good! Let me know what you think....even if you think it is bad because I'm always looking to improve! I also welcome all the good comments too! :)
