When it rains it pours...

Well, on top of building a new house I have now been called back to work (today was my first day back) which is great because I like my job but with so much on my plate I start getting overwhelmed. Normal house work here where we live and working on the new house, my job, craft stuff, etc. I'm sure you all know the routine! To finish things off my computer has been acting up so that makes life so much more difficult! I guess the sad reality is I won't be able to craft as much anymore :( I'll still be around but just not with a card everyday.
So if you don't hear from me once in awhile you know what I'm doing!

Wish me luck!

New Driveway...

I know this sounds a little odd but I just can't express how much I love this part of my new driveway!! We are almost one mile off the main road and this is just a small part of my new tree surrounded sanctuary!! Can you smell how fresh the air is just by looking at this picture? HAHAHA!! So much wildlife...deer, turkey, butterflies, etc.!! I can't wait to move out there and get some good pictures...if I can be quiet long enough as to not scare them! :)
Oh I bet this will be soooooooo lovely when the leaves start turning colors!

I also want to take this opportunity to thank everyone for the nice comments on my blog and also for any answers I receive to questions I ask...very much appreciated!!

Simple Thank You Card

I was watching the news while on vacation one day and there was a lady saying that the troops wanted packages for school kids (either in Afghanistan or Iraq). They needed paper, pencils, pens, sharpeners, snacks and a toy. I thought this sounded like a good idea so I asked my family and friends to help. I was able to collect either supplies or money to make 57 bags!!! I also put this card in there with a nice little letter thanking the troops for their service. Of course I forgot to take a picture of the cute bags but atleast you get the idea!!

I used my cricut to cut out the U.S. and words inside the card and on the front I printed out a small version of the "Star Spangled Banner" then stamped over it with SU stars stamp. Nothing fancy but I was exhausted after making all those bags!! I had to ship in three big boxes and of course fill out a bunch of custom forms...thank goodness my postal guy could help me because they were not easy to understand!
I am entering the card into these challenges:

Our Creative Corner Challenge - Stars and Stripes (blue stars stamped and music sheet for stripes)
Cupcake Craft Challenge #56 - Red, White and Blue

Sympathy Card

This card isn't for anything that has happened lately I'm just trying to build up a stash of cards to have on hand. Everytime I need a card it seems like a last minute ordeal and then I don't have time to make one soooooo I thought a big variety might help me out...and they don't go bad (like cupcakes...as though sweets would set around that long...hehehe) so hopefully I won't have to use this type of card for a long long long time!

Oh and this was my first time hand-stitching a card (I used faux stitching before) and good grief is that harder than I thought!! Making things straight, lining up holes, not poking my finger with the needle...LOL! And it takes some patience!!

I am entering it into the following challenges:

Stamp TV STVTC29 - Sewing
Pennys Challenge #5 - Pearls (I used two black pearls...one in the middle of each Prima flower)
The Pink Elephant Challenge #31 - colors (red, black, yellow and white)
The Cuttlebug Spot Challenge #57 - birds
Digital Delights #6 - Sketch
(Sorry this is a few days late...I followed this sketch and then forgot which one it was when I went to post...LOL! I guess that is what I get for trying to combine so many challenges!)

Question...

This is probably a good time to ask this because I have been asked a few questions on my blog and I wondered what was proper...to respond on my blog or to respond on the other persons blog. If it is the other person where do I leave the message?
Merry- If your reading this I answered about the rainbow flower under your question on my blog.

Still trying to get the hang of blogging! Thanks for bearing with me!

I'll be back later with another card!

Card For A Cause

Erin at Scrap, Stamp and Be Merry has posted that her 13 year old neighbor Paige was in a serious boating accident a few weeks ago. Luckily everyone is alive, however, Paige has had to go through numerous surgeries and the doctors had to amputate part of her arm. The article is devastating. My heart goes out to her and the family! They ran out of room in the hospital for flowers and gifts so Erin is asking everyone to make a card to cheer Paige up during this difficult time. So please go check out Erin's website...there is info. about some candy and also how to mail the card to Paige.
Above is the card I made for Paige...I hope the bright cheery colors make her smile!!

I am also entering this into two challenges:
Stampin For The Weekend - colors teal, orange and pink....and I picked the brightest ones possible!! No clue why the teal looks blue in the picture but it is definately not BLUE!

Truly Scrumptious Challenge #15 - Sketch and Indian Summer (I used bright colors)

Happy Birthday Heidi!

This week Heidi had a birthday so everyone over at Simon Says would like for you to make a card for her following sketch #12 by Iris!

Simon Says Challenge - sketch (Birthday Card for Heidi!)

I am also entering this into the Color Throwdown Challenge #58 - always artichoke, regal rose, chocolate chip.
I don't have these exact colors but tried to match the best I could!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!
