Beer Bread Mixes!

I make these regular and whole wheat beer bread mixes to sell. They are especially great during the holidays. These were for some of my mother in laws co-workers. I used some pretty paper for the tags which includes the recipe. Also stamped some holiday sentiments or candy canes on them.

Ornament gift card holders...

I got my teenage nephew a few gift cards for fast food places...FOOD a teenagers dream gift! LOL! I wanted to spruce up the gift a little so I made these gift card holders and also combined them into an ornament. I thought they turned out really neat! I cut out the papers with my cricut and embossed the snowflakes in gold. Added some red sparkly ribbon and voila! I put these on the tree and he had to find them.... who says money (okay money in the form of a plastic card!) doesn't grow on trees?? LOL!

Challenges:
Allsorts - Anything but a card
CPS - Year in Review sketch #54 (hopefully this is okay considering it is not a card)
Crafty Calendar - Winter Sparkle
Creative Inspirations - Christmas Gift
Die Cut Dreams - Snowflake Surprise ... either a hidden snowflake or a detachable gift with snowflake. The holder with the snowflakes is an ornament separate from the gift cards.
Our Creative Corner - Food or Drink (gift cards are for food/drink) If this doesn't count please erase this post from the challenge...thanks!

Rudolph and Frosty for Christmas...

This is a card I made for my hubby. The digi is from Dustin Pike and I colored it with Copics on the antlers and Prisma Pencils/OMS on the rest. Added some puffy paint with glitter to the tree and flowersoft to the ground for snow. Papers and ribbon are from my stash.

Challenges:
Bee Crafty - circles and digi (tree and ribbon all have circles)
Crafty Calendar - Winter Sparkle
Digital Tuesday - Winter Dazzling Diamonds
Practical Scrappers - Winter
Stamp Something - Holiday
2 Red Bananas - Tree
CPS - Year in Review ... Sketch #75

This is a card I created for my hubby's grandma. She enjoys feeding birds so I thought this image would fit her perfectly. The image is also from Dustin Pike and I colored it with prismacolor pencils and OMS. Then I added some puffy paint on the birdhouse and the snowmans hat. Added some flowersoft to the ground and the papers are scraps from my stash. Thought the colors of this ribbon matched perfectly!

Challenges:
Bee Crafty - circles and digi (snowman, birdhouse and ribbon all have circles)
Crafty Calendar - Winter Sparkle
Digital Tuesday - Winter Dazzling Diamonds
Our Creative Corner - Food or Drink (I have bird food!)

Catching up...

Hey everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! Mine was pretty good but we did have a death in the family. :( My great great Uncle passed away on x-mas eve. He was a terrific guy with a gentle heart and a good sense of humor....he always had a joke about my eating habits. He made it to his 90th birthday and just celebrated a 67 year anniversary with his wife! Those of you that are racing fans will enjoy this bit of information...Uncle Kenny was a faithful Indy car fan and attended 72 Indianapolis 500 races!! He will be missed greatly. The passing of a family member is always hard and even more so during the holidays. The funeral was Monday so I am just now trying to catch up with things. I will be posting a few items I created last week later.

Merry Christmas!!

Since some of you are already celebrating on different time zones I wanted to go ahead and share a picture with you of our Christmas tree this year...probably our best one ever!! I love how big and full it is...about 9 foot tall! :)

Wishing everyone a wonderful and safe holiday with friends and family. Hope Santa blesses all of us with some crafting goodies too! hehe!

Hugs!

More yummy treats

I know this isn't a cooking blog BUT I do not want to create a separate blog...I can barely keep up with this one!! LOL! So, you will get a little bit of everything on here! Right now I want to show you some treats I made the other day when I was in a serious baking mood! I already showed you the Anzac Biscuits and I must say those are DELISH!! The above treats have also been tested by either myself or other family members and they all pass the YUMMY test! LOL! The top cookies are peanut butter. A recipe I got at my bridal shower a few years back from my hubby's aunt and I finally decided to try them. Now I won't touch these because I don't like very much PB but my DH sure knows how to stuff his face with them! The second ones are oatmeal raisin and I got the recipe from Charlotte here. A little sticky to work with but they taste AMAZING!! The last things are pretzels filled with chocolate/caramel and walnuts. So I guess they are pretzel turtles. A little idea I got from a lady I work with at school. I prefer them without nuts so I made a little of both even though the ones in the picture all have nuts. That is all for now as I do believe I have enough to munch on for the holiday! :P

For those of you doing the same thing this week....HAPPY BAKING!! And the rest of you...HAPPY TASTING!! LOL!

Card from Gosfield!

Just wanted to share with you the card that Angie's (her blog here)) parents sent me. It is so lovely! This is my first x-mas card ever from outside the USA. I was not expecting them to send this at all and I really appreciate their thoughtfulness. Angie... you have some very sweet parents! :)

Anzac Biscuits!

Have you ever heard of these?? I hadn't until my Aussie friend over at Merrymade Cards and Crafts e-mailed me the recipe. Had to make some slight adjustments as we don't have the exact same products in the US or atleast not that I can find. On my next trip to Jungle Jim's I will be on the lookout! It is a HUGE store with specialty items from everywhere internationally. So this is my first batch and they came straight from the oven...cooling right now and I plan on having them with some hot tea tonight!
They smell so delicious!! MMMMMMMMMM, I bet you can smell them from here! LOL!
I will let you know later how I liked them.

Whimsy Santa and another glue review....

I'm going to start with the glue review. As you can see I have two different sticks of glue. The top one is UHU and the bottom one is Scrapbooking Memories. In accordance with the new federal guidlines I must state that I received the UHU glue free of charge for honest feedback! So the first thing I noticed was the size of the UHU glue stick...MUCH bigger than any other I have ever seen so that is a plus! Also I noticed that it is tinted purple....a BIG plus so you can see exactly where you are applying the glue! The scrapbooking memories brand is small and isn't colored. So I started my card and noticed that the UHU glue was much easier to use because of these features! They both act about the same as far as adhesive goes...it will curl your paper so you must act quickly! I typically use a glue roller but I think this would be more economical to use on paper. The drawback is you can't use the stick on everything. I tried using the UHU stick on my ribbon but it just wouldn't hold tight enough so I moved on to my trusted glue roller.
Bottom line...if your looking for a cheaper way of adhering just paper items you might want to try the UHU glue stick especially with the added features of being BIGGER and also TINTED purple!! Thanks for reading my review!! :)

Now for my card. I used scrap paper. Colored my new Whimsy image with Copics...highlighted just a little with my white gel pen. I am trying to go lighter on this so it doesn't overpower the image! Also tried a new coloring technique on the shoes...what do you think?? Do they look like light is bouncing off of them? Added some puffy paint. Also added some red ribbon at the top with a bow. Then I cut out the snowflakes with my cricut and dazzled them up with my Martha Stewart Florentine Gold glitter!

Don't forget to check out the rest of my blog!
Thanks for visiting! :)

X-mas Scamp

I have the day off today....YAH! So I am trying to catch up on some stuff and of course have some crafting time! :) This is a digi from the Character Cafe and his name is Scamp....isn't he so cute?!! I can just see a real dog chewing on x-mas lights in someone's house! LOL! Used some scrap paper, colored Scamp with Copics and prisma pencils with OMS. Added puffy paint and my new glossy accents to the light bulbs. Distressed the edges and inked up red. Sentiment came with the digi.

But three fit on one of my papers...the background one which has circles, words (Shhh and Joy although they are mostly covered but you can still see a little, and geometric shapes (also a circle)...the paper is a rectangle so I guess that would count too.

SU sweet treat cups

Does anyone know where I can get these in Indiana?? I was wanting to save on shipping costs. Just wanted a few sets but didn't want to pay a ton for shipping!

Thanks!

Mom's first card!!

I had my mom over the other day to try out the new Wii and we had such a good time. My dad even came over for dinner later and tried it out....hilarious watching them play it...we laughed so hard at each other!! LOL! Anyways, I wanted to enter a challenge so I decided to start crafting and asked my mom to join in the fun. I gave her this Rubber Romance image and my Copics. Turned her loose with my scraps and anything else she wanted to use in my craft room!! I think she was overwhelmed at first because she has never made a card before but once she saw what I was doing she quickly got the hang of it. I believe she is giving this to my dad for Christmas. I think she did an excellent job on her first card...what do you think?? Leave her some love and I will be sure to have her read all your comments!

Thanks!

Oh my goodness, if you have never played one of these you don't know what you are missing! SOOOOOOOOOOOO FUN! I'm not a big game person but we got a few mario games and the Wii Fit plus. Untraditional holidays...

I took some quick crafting time today to create this card. I used some untraditional holiday colors for this card...a salmon, mint green, white and kraft brown combo. The digi is from InStyle and I colored her with my Copics and prisma pencils. Used scrap paper once again (I just love using up scraps...no waste here!) and popped her up with 3-d squares. Added puffy paint to her outfit along with some clear glitter for that added shine! Then I used flower soft for the snow she is dancing on....so cute! :) Added a button with a hemp bow and distressed and blackened the edges around the sentiment and added some plain white ribbon for the finishing touches. So what do you think....is untraditional just as pretty for the holidays??

Challenges:
InStyle Stamps over the hump blog candy contest - snow and must use one of their images.
InStyle - color challenge (salmon, mint green and brown)
Crafty Calendar - winter sparkle (sparkle is in the puffy paint on her outfit)

A card!

I can't believe it has been so long since I posted an actual card! I have been soooooo busy lately. I doubt it will get any better with the holidays fast approaching so if you don't hear from me at some point don't think I forgot about you! I decided to give the x-mas cards a break. This is a freebie digi from Sassy Studio Designs. I colored them in and outlined in black to make them stand out a little more. Put gold stickles on both crowns. Used scrap paper from my stash. Cut out the design I put the sentiment on with my Cricut and Storybook cart. Sentiment is actually a rub-on from Martha Stewart (not her personally of course...LOL!) Bad joke! Anyways, then I finished it all off with that cute little pink bow.

Challenges:
LaLa Land Crafts - pink and green (hopefully this did not have to be a x-mas card!)

Etsy Inspired #65 - So Stinking Sweet
The colors pink, yellow and green inspired me here.

Sassy Studio - Princess Frog Bonus Challenge

Good Karma??

Hopefully these winnings are a sign of good karma!

Received the above blog candy from Monica at Giddy Greetings. It is the entire monthly set of dies from Sizzix even came in a nice plastic case! I actually got these a few weeks or more ago I just haven't posted...shame on me!

I won this really cool screen door kit from Michelle at Inky Fingers. She also sent me the card that was posted on DCRU. Isn't this awesome? You should go check her site out and maybe buy one for yourself or a friend that enjoys crafting!

I won this Greeting Farm stamp of Sassy Suzi just by commenting on a certain post at the DCRU blog. I also just got another BIG package of stuff I ordered from the Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales. This shop is FANTASTIC...seriously you NEED to check it out! And if your like me be prepared to open up the pocket book really wide!! LOL! Right Claudia? :P

Next, I participated in another Busy Beauties Blog Hop and was selected off one of the DT blogs as a winner to pick any image I wanted so I chose the new Baking Beauty. I couldn't figure out how to post a picture without sharing the one I'm not supposed to share so the link is here to view it at the store.

Eileen at Eiglas was nice enough to pick me in collaboration with leaving a comment at C.R.A.F.T challenge blog as a winner. I was allowed to choose 2 of her digis. Now she doesn't sell these and of course it is against the rules to share because they are not watermarked or anything. But if you would like any of her images you can maybe e-mail her and she just might share one with you! Stay tuned for anything I might post with her name credited...those will be the digis I chose!

Dawn left me a surprise comment on my blog that she wanted to give me a digi of my choice from Karen's Doodles. All I had to do was comment on the Doodle Diva blog. I believe this company is really new and they are releasing several new digis all the time. Many are also available in rubber! These are seriously some of the cutest new images I have seen! I chose Bigsby but he was a freebie at one point so they went ahead and gave me him along with my second choice of Noel which is of the birds singing. Aren't they adorable? I LOVE THEM!!

There is more but I will post that some other time...this post is getting really long! LOL!

I want to just say THANK YOU to all the VERY GENEROUS ladies out there! I am soooooo thankful for everything I receive!

Frosty Fun!

This is the last of the 4 cards for my mom to give out tonight.
Used the Cuttlebug snowflake folder again with my rolling pin on plain white paper and covered with bed of roses shimmerz spritz. Cut into pieces to make a quilt pattern and then stamped with my Hot Off The Press stitch stamp. Colored the digi from Dustin Pike with regular water-based markers and added some stickles. Puffy paint for the snow and corner accents...added some MS white glitter which can't be seen in the picture. Sentiment is from Sassy Studio Designs and colored with prismas. Added a pre-made bow and quilt block charm that I picked up at Hobby Lobby.
Let me know what you think!

SHHH...kitty is sleeping!

I'm tearing through new 12x12 sheets now! LOL! I love new paper :) I embossed the base paper with a cuttlebug snowflake folder and my rolling pin then brushed angel wings shimmerz on it. Colored the digi from Dustin Pike with Copics. Used red flock on the hat..first time using that stuff and I thought it was hard to use! It got everywhere and then it was patchy so I had to basically layer with glue and flock several times. Maybe the more I use it the easier it will be? Also used some puffy paint on the rim and ball of the hat. Doesn't the kitty look so snuggly? Awww!
The sentiment is colored a bit and then I added stickles. This is a digi from Sassy Studio Designs.

Challenges:

So do you think this sassy gal has been naughty or nice? LOL! My guess is NAUGHTY!! :P My mom's friend is going to LOVE this card! hehehe!

I actually used a new sheet of 12x12 paper for this...WHOA! I just love all the words on the back of this paper...goes with this image perfectly! Colored my Sassy digi image with prismas and Copics. Added some highlights with a white gel pen and stickles to the candy cane. Sentiments are from Clear Dollar Stamps. Bow was pre-made from a pack I bought last year at Wal-Mart.

Lots of coloring...and prisma question?

No card today but I have been doing lots of coloring and now my hand is so cramped it hurts really bad :( Guess that is why I usually color only one and not multilple images in a short period of time. I used my prismas that my nephew was nice enough to give me but now I have a question. Is there a way to erase a mistake using prisma premiere pencils? My image looks great but there is a tiny stray mark that is driving me nuts so I tried to cover with white and blend it out and my husband says you can't tell but I would still like to know if I can completely get rid of the mark. So if there is a trick let me know!

Thanks and have a great rest of the evening....time for bed here!

Another Card!

I would not normally put these colors together but LOVE how this card turned out!! Probably one of my favorites! I used a cuttlebug folder and a rolling pin for the background turquoise paper and sanded the upper layer lightly. Distressed the black strip with my new CTMH edge distresser and then added a strip of olive green. Stamped that with a Hot Off The Press Stitch stamp. Added some white ribbon and a few white buttons. Then stamped the flower from a Stampology set onto white cardstock and adhered to a black base. Colored the inner petals and added a brad to the center. For my final touch I added some greenish glitter to the outer messy petals! Enjoy the eye candy and let me know what you think!

Sassy 2010 calendar!

I made this calendar last night following the Sassy Studio Sunday tutorial. You can find the tutorial here. Super easy to make and I think it really makes a statement on a desk! I haven't decided if I am going to give this away or keep for myself. Considering I use more post-it notes than anyone I know...I'll probably hoard this all to myself...hehe! :P I colored the sassy digi image with copics, bought the 5x7 frame at the dollar store, used scrap papers, cut the calendar out I received in a RAK from Deanne at Am I A Scrap Addict. Then I used my new Big Bite to punch holes into all the layers for a brass fastener. I really didn't think I would use my Big Bite very often because I like using a hammer punch but now I can see where it could really come in handy! I got it on sale at my local Wal-Mart for $25...now they are reduced to $20! In my opinion worth having around. Then the cute purple post-it notes came in some candy I received from Crystal over at Crystal's Crafty Creations. Let me know what you think of my project!

Challenges:
Sassy Studio Sunday - Tutorial and e-mailed project to them yesterday
Saturday Spotlight with Hidden Potential - Hats on!

Shopping frenzy!

*WARNING!* LONG POST!!

Okay okay, I went on a bit of a shopping frenzy! YIKES!! BUT....I did manage to snag MOST of this loot either on sale or it was used and I paid a lower price. So that is how I justify my spending anyways...LOL! Not sure hubby would agree but it is my allowance and I will do with it whatever I please so there! HA! Enough of being a snotty brat...LOL!

The picture below includes some used stamps I bought off of Claudia Rosa (various brands), some Stampology stamps from Wal-Mart, Clear Dollar stamps and a few misc. products from their store (1 of those stamp sets I won as candy...I could pick any set I wanted!), some Sugar Nellies stamps from Funky Kits and some Cuttlebug embossing folders from Memory Miser.

This picture is everything I bought from Susana at Susana's Custom Art and Card Design store! Great prices, free shipping (with qualifying purchase) and awesome customer service! Something was damaged in shipping and she even replaced it free of charge! PLUS in the original shipment she included that goodie bag you see towards the left (in a ziplock bag) for free! HOW SWEET! Very very nice lady and such a pleasure to do business with for anyone out there interested go check her shop out! I'm not going to list everything....if you want click on the picture to see a larger view and you should be able to see every item I purchased.

Okay, I didn't buy anything in the picture below...my sweet dear mom bought all these goodies for me!! I had her pick me up some paper pads on sale one day and she saw this holiday stack and thought I would like it. She also knows I have been wanting some crocheted flowers (as I do not think I have the patience to learn) and she found these on etsy and bought them for me....aren't they gorgeous! I LOVE THEM!
The sealife papers, charm and shell ribbon are for a scapbook I will be making for her EVENTUALLY...maybe I will have time during x-mas break?? LOL! Who am I kidding...I move as quick as a snail sometimes...it will probably take longer...sorry mom! It will get done one day...PROMISE! And the mini album is something I thought was absolutely cute so she got it for me! THANKS MOM...LOVE YOU! Yep, spoiled rotten I know :P

And here we have my final loot! I bought all this stuff from various places...local craft shop, online shops, wal-mart, Hobby Lobby, etc. Once again I am not going to type it all out...you can click on the image if you want a bigger view (sorry the image is rotated a little funny but I could not get it to post correctly!).

Well, is everyone exhausted now after reading all of that? I sure am! WHEW! The sad part is I have only been able to use like 2 new items in the past few weeks...ugh! The rest is just taking up floor space right now as I can't even figure out where to put it all! LOL!

*Candy Alert* Now I have NEVER done a candy before but I feel the urge to give something away as I have been so very very very lucky/blessed lately! This is for my regular followers ONLY! Now if you would like to join that is great and I will count you towards the candy but PLEASE DO NOT follow me just for the candy and then drop me like a dead tree as soon as the candy is over. I would be crushed if I saw my numbers go down. I really appreciate each and every single one of you (gals and guys *wink*) and I am so thankful that you follow me because you REALLY want to NOT because you have to...means the world to me!! Also, DO NOT advertise this candy! Like I said this is for people that really give a hoot about me and my blog....call this gratitude candy! I know your thinking get on with it already! LOL! This is nothing too grand for now but I promise there will be more giveaways in the future! If you would like to be in the drawing please leave me a comment under this post and you will be in the drawing for 20 random stamped images from my new stash! Gives me a reason to play also...LOL! :) I will post anywhere and you have until Thanksgiving night (Nov. 26th at midnight EST) to enter. I will pick a winner sometime Friday and announce HERE on my blog. I will also try to contact you for your mailing address!

Thanks so much everyone for being so great!
Big hugs!

Beary Nice Christmas!

I did this card really really quick tonight between finishing up my chores. Can't believe I let things stack up around here so bad! UGH!
I used some scrap papers and stitched with my white gel pen. Haven't put a sentiment on the diagonal red strips yet...I'm debating between Merry Christmas, Seasons Greetings or Happy Holidays. I will probably stamp or emboss in black so you can get the idea. Cut out the snowflakes with my beloved cricut....ahhhh! :)
Then I covered them with stickles (so addicting!). Colored my the digi from Dustin Pike with my Copics. Not my best coloring but I had to be quick...that is my excuse anyways...LOL! :P

Challenges:
Friday Sketchers - sketch
Cupcake Craft Challenge - use digi images or paper
Color Throwdown - chocolate, cream, dark red and olive (optional)
Simon Says - animals
Creative Inspirations - sparkle

Thanks for having a looksy!

Jackson's 3rd Birthday

So this card isn't anything too grand considering my 3 year old nephew could care less about cards and it will just get ripped up as soon as either he or his 2 year old brother get ahold of it! I do love the image though and he is really into the chickens when he comes to visit so thought it would atleast get a quick smile.

Digi is from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff.

No card...

So sorry I have not posted since Sunday! I have had ZERO time to do any crafting. Boo :( Working alot...getting errands/chores done and then I am completely exhausted! I still have lots of stuff to catch up on tonight and plan on going to bed EARLY, but I hope to be back with a card very soon...maybe I can even squeeze a quick one in tonight?? I do hope so!

Vintage Christmas

I bet your noticing some new stuff I used right? Okay, well maybe you can't pick them out so I will tell you!
I bought some new Cuttlebug embossing folders (used the snowflake one on this card). Since I don't have an embossing machine yet I used a good ol' rolling pin...it was hard though because I had to push down really hard! I also bought some Shimmerz (used Angel Wings on the embossed paper) and some Flower Soft (used vintage on the white ribbon strip across the middle). This was an experiment to use my new goodies and I think it turned out pretty good! I thought about coloring the image but it just didn't seem right to do that so I left it black and white.

Challenges:
Die Cuts R Us - Emboss Something
Doodle Palace - Red and White Christmas Card
ABC Challenge H is for Hidden (I hid my ribbon with Flower Soft...not sure I interpreted this challenge correctly but I tried!)
The Secret Crafter - 4 seasons
Robyns Fetish - Theme challenge
Creatalicious - Christmas card with snowflakes and sparkle!
Corrisive Challenge - Emboss something

Thanks for stopping by! Always love hearing what you think about my work!
